Blog Movement as Prayer

Prayer is given to us for many reasons. We use it to communicate with ADONAI. It is used do that ADONAI can communicate with us. It's never a one-way street.

Not everyone prays the same way. This is how it should be. We aren't identical and our relationships with ADONAI aren't identical either.

Movement can contribute to our prayer life. We've seen Jewish worshippers bowing in prayer at the 'Wailing Wall'. Other groups may sway or rotate or dance. Even making the sign of the Cross or just lifting the hands is using movement as part of prayer.

Use that inspiration to deepen your prayer life. Don't be afraid to move and pray.

Blog Work as Prayer

The phrase 'laborare est orare' is familiar to many. It means ' to work is to pray'. But how often do we even try to live by that?

It's easy to express this another way: 'I work for ADONAI'. Simple and straightforward.

All of what we do every day is to be dedicated to the One who makes life, and our work, possible.

We at the Monastery of the Four Hills do try to live and work with that in mind. Of course it gets forgotten sometimes. But we know we are forgiven by the Father.

Seek that forgiveness. Work to His greater glory.

Blog Music as Prayer

Thank you for the prayer requests sent to the Monastery of the Four Hills via Messenger.

Please let us know when your prayers are answered. It encourages others.

In the Monastery, music is an important part of our prayer life. As it should be since ADONAI created music. The universe has rhythms to which we respond. Whether we listen, play an instrument or sing, it's praise of the Holy One. Ability doesn't come in to it; only what's in the heart.

Memorise your favourite hymns and praise songs. Whether it's something written last week or 300 years ago, it's worthy praise for the Lamb who is Worthy.

Blog Prayer Requests

Welcome to the Monastery of the Four Hills. While we aren't a real monastery, we do devote time to pray for others. This space may be used for prayer requests. Please feel free to ask for prayers for any good thing. If requesting prayers for others, give first names only to protect their privacy. Note that no one can guarantee the outcome of prayer except ADONAI. However, faith is known to work miracles.
